Zombie Apocalypse

Wonder why Zombies, Zombie Apocalypse, and Zombie Preparedness continue to live or walk dead on a CDC web site? As it turns out what first began as a tongue in cheek campaign to engage new audiences with preparedness messages has proven to be a very effective platform. We continue to reach and engage a wide variety of audiences on all hazards preparedness via Zombie Preparedness; and as our own director, Dr. Ali Khan, notes, "If you are generally well equipped to deal with a zombie apocalypse you will be prepared for a hurricane, pandemic, earthquake, or terrorist attack." So please log on, get a kit, make a plan, and be prepared!

FEMA does not provide generators to individuals, nor does FEMA provide reimbursements for generators purchased by individuals.

FEMA only brings in generators to supply power to large critical infrastructures during times of disasters, such as hospitals, water treatment plants and 911 centers.

Hello Everyone,

I am pleased to announce that I have published the new Jackson County Citizen Corps Council Website. I am sharing this information with you as I would like some feedback from our members at our Citizen Corps Council meeting tomorrow or for those of you not attending you can post your thoughts on the site itself. This is still a work in progress and changes can easily be made. Our primary goal in creating this site was to provide a local site for Citizen Corps, MRC and CERT volunteers to go to, to find information on training, meetings, volunteer opportunities, public health issues and other local activities. You can access the site at www.jacksoncountyccc.webs.com.

Thank you,

Lori Simonton
